About Us

The Humble Area Genealogical Society, affectionately known as THAGS, serves genealogy enthusiasts in the northeast Houston, Texas area. THAGS meets monthly to learn tips and strategies for researching our family lines, participates in regular trips to the Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research, and manages a genealogy library housed at the Humble Museum.

Our society draws family history lovers from Atascocita, Crosby, Huffman, Kingwood, New Caney, Porter, Splendora, and of course Humble, Texas.

Members of The Humble Area Genealogical Society enjoy 8 months of wonderful speakers discussing genealogically and historically interesting topics that inspire and inform.

Members also receive the society newsletter called The Humble Genealogist.
