NOVEMBER GENERAL THAGS MEETING -- Don't miss this!
Monday, 13 November 2023
7:00 PM via ZOOM (invites will be emailed about a week before presentation)
Presentation: Search Vs. Research
Searching is just one step in the process of researching your family history. A case study based on a family story from Chicago in the 1920’s demonstrates the research process from beginning to end – how to develop a research goal, plan the research, document results, and preserve your findings.
Presenter: Barbara Coakley
Barbara’s interest in family history began over 30 years ago when an aunt sent an envelope of family papers. Through the years she has traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe visiting her ancestor’s homelands and doing research. Barbara taught continuing education classes in Genealogy for Collin College from 2008 – 2022 and has done presentations for genealogical societies in the U.S. and the U.K. Barbara is President of Genealogy Friends of Plano Libraries
